Poolside Timber Pavilion With Integrated Lighting

A gabled timber pavilion beside a pool, with a solid roof, lounge and dining seating, and lighting run through the rafters for use after dark.

This is a pavilion rather than a pergola — the roof is solid and gabled, not slatted — which is the difference between shade and genuine shelter. It stands beside the pool on a paver terrace, framed in heavy timber and left open on all sides.

The lighting is what makes it work after sunset: warm strip lighting run along the rafters, string lights across the opening, a ceiling fan, and accent colour picking out the structure against the dark. The photographs show it in daylight and at night, which is the honest way to show a structure whose whole point is evening use.
